How can I help?

FR Fundraising Badge LR.jpg

Without the support of donors, friends and volunteers, MST wouldn't be able to continue delivering our life changing voyages for young people.

There are a number of ways you can help us in our mission:

Sail

Attending one of our RYA practical courses is the best way to enjoy great sailing, great instruction and great company, whilst also supporting our charitable work.

We often have spare capacity on our vessels during term time, and organising a voyage for your church, work or school group is a great way of supporting our work, whilst also having a great time!

Volunteer

As a small charity, we couldn't deliver our voyages without the help of our dedicated and skilled volunteers who serve as Sea Staff and in lots of crucial supporting roles.

We are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers, both sailing and ashore. We always need more help with vessel maintenance and turnaround, as well as with administration and fundraising

Contact us for more information about volunteering

Donate

We are committed to keeping sailing accessible to everyone, and as part of this we aim to subsidise the cost of our youth voyages by around 50%. However we can't do this without the support of donors who enable us to continue offering our voyages to as many people as possible.

Regular giving is particularly valuable to the the Trust. Having a guaranteed income each month enables us to plan for the future with security, especially for fixed costs such as salaries and vessel berthing fees.

Fundraise

Even if you can't donate to the Trust yourself, you could support us through fundraising in some way.

  • If you're planning a challenge, why not ask people to sponsor you in aid of the Morning Star Trust?  We are registered with Just Giving and would be happy to help you set up your page.

  • If your church or employer is looking for a charity to support then please remember to tell them about us.

We are also registered with Give as You Live and EasyFundraising, which are both easy ways to raise money for the Morning Star Trust whilst shopping online.

We are always delighted to help fundraisers in any way we can, please contact us

Sponsor Us

Bright Star and Eastern Star are well known and well regarded sail training vessels, and their hull wrap designs make them distinctive and highly visible.

Sponsorship helps us maximise the impact we can deliver to our beneficiaries for minimum cost and we are always keen to partner with organisations that share our vision and values.

MST can offer creative branding and marketing opportunities at a very low cost including:

  • displaying corporate logos on the hull or sails

  • flying sponsor's flags and banners onboard when in port

  • naming a voyage or programme after a sponsor

Please contact us to discuss how we might work together

Join the Trust

Membership of the Trust is free and is open to those who support our mission and aims including our faith based aims.  Members can receive:

  • Regular updates on the work of the Trust including prayer updates

  • Voyage updates during the course of a trip

  • Details of working parties

  • Attend our conference in November

For details of membership please email our membership secretary.
